Karen began her career in 1992 and spent 33 years at Wells Fargo Advisors before joining The Lewis Financial Group in 2025. Certified Divorce Financial Analyst

A CDFA® professional is a financial professional skilled at analyzing data and providing expertise on the financial issues of divorce. The role of the CDFA® professional is to assist the client and his or her attorney to understand how the decisions he or she makes today will impact the client’s financial future. The CDFA® designation was earned through the Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts (IDFA). The Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts is the authority on divorce planning theory and application in North America. IDFA will establish standards for certification of divorce financial analysts that are objective, reliable meet and current benchmarks for certifying bodies. The IDFA helps to ensure the financial health and welfare of the divorcing public through the certification of individual as Certified Divorce Financial Analysts.

 Continuing Education – To assure continuing competency in tax codes, legislative and other ongoing developments in the field of divorce financial planning, CDFA®’s must report 30 hours of divorce-related continuing education every two years. In order to maintain the credibility and integrity of the certification process, IDFA reserves the right to verify any information provided on renewal applications.

To receive the Five Star Wealth Manager award, a wealth manager must satisfy 10 objective eligibility and evaluation criteria that are associated with wealth managers who provide quality services to their clients. Factors taken into account include assets under management and client retention rate. The Forbes ranking of  Top Women Wealth Advisors Best-In-State, developed by SHOOK Research, is based on an algorithm of qualitative data, learned through surveys and interviews conducted by telephone, in-person and virtually to evaluate best practices, such as service models, investing models and compliance records as well as quantitative data, such as revenue trends and assets under management. All advisors have a minimum of seven years’ experience. Portfolio performance is not a criterion due to varying client objectives and lack of audited data.
